It refered to a networking process that I can relate to called Jetnetting. The principle is to actively seek to promote others that are in your network and even people that you just meet. The focus is on helping them, not yourself. I have built my business model on helping clients with their tech needs, but not directly on developing leads for their businesses unless they hired me specificly for that. I grew up in the sixties , a time of major changes and my handwriting has reflected it. I have struggled for years with it, until now. I came across a video on youtube that spoke my language. I searched out the author and came up with BFH Handwriting… http://tiny.cc/Bb9wt Her name is Nan Jay Barchowsky and she has been helping people of all ages with handwriting for 35 years. The positive path is paved with discarded negative thoughts. This to me means that the sooner you are able to discard those negative thoughts that have been prevalent throughout your life, the sooner you are able to move in that new positive direction. A tool to use for this process is to ask yourself "how are those thoughts serving you now?" Chances are they are like a ball and chain, holding you back from moving in that positive direction. The surgeon felt that I would recover quickly and he was right. I never had any of the light sensitivity that some people have had afterwards. Good to have full unobstructed vision again. Weather here has broken and we have actually had some sun lately…. lol

Ahhh, a new year and time to make plans for what we want to accomplish with the precious days ahead!

If you want to create positive change in your life, here are some strategies to help you increase your chances for success:

1. Choose a resolution that feels manageable, yet still challenges you.
2. Be sure your resolution or goal is clearly attached to your vision; achieving it will take you toward your vision rather than away from it.
3. Be clear that your resolution is something YOU want.
4. Have a plan that not only defines the major steps over time, but also the small, individual action steps you can take on a daily basis.
5. Create some system of accountability; enlist the help of a Buddy who is as motivated as you are.
6. As you work your plan, allow the process to evolve and be refined.
Step up and resolve to make it a powerful and fulfilling 2008!

The other side

I live in Mt Shasta, Ca, which is snow country. I just had eye surgery on my left eye and am now recovering. I have 12 stitches for the graft that was put on from a pterygium removal. Eye seems to be recovering fine, just feels like a piece of string in corner of eye……lol Here is a offical description > http://www.harvardeye.com/procedures/pterygium.html

I had this wonderful cat for 18 years Snowflake. At one point when she was 10 years old, she got a kind of cancer that pure white cats get, due to no pigmentation in the skin for protection from the sun. As a result of the cancer, she had to had her ears bobbed off and could no longer go outside into the sun. All her sun then had to be taken in through a window only. When she first came home from the hospital, she had stitches in both ears and for days would shake her head not understanding the sensation. I think she is watching me now just snickering at me who now feels like she did with strings in my eye. Even though I know what they are, does not make them feel any less intrusive …… Awwwwwooooooooo …. <<<>>>

I surrender

I know, kinda of a funny title. There is a reason for it though. I had a very nice call from a coach who thought I was barking up the wrong tree with my niche development. After talking with her for about 1 hr, she convinced me to not try and re-invent the wheel and just do what I have been doing for over 12 years. The one change to this, is to learn to market my services effectively. That is where I am now going to be putting my energy. I stimulate the desire in clients to learn to use their computers to save them time and money. This was the first book that I have read for awhile. I do a bit of reading from different sources, mostly information that I have found on the Internet, but finishing a book that I have been reading for months on and off is important to me. It is an important ” first step. ” Today I choose to finish a book, tomorrow I choose to finish a budget, a project etc. What matters to me is that it is the follow through of action. A feeling of accomplishment to be built upon; a foundation.

A new day

GOOD MORNING world ! A new day has begun and today I see it differently than I have previous days. I see it as a empty box that I get to put in it in ONLY what I want and each item I put in is a choice of best possible outcomes for me. Cool ! I read chapters this morning from a book that inspires me [ Don’t Bitch, Just Get Rich by Toney Fitzgerald ], I have had my cup of Treasure Tea, small amount of exercise to warm up to my day. Ready to roll now ! Cool Wellness is not just a word, but rather it is a belief structure. What can I do today that is both in my mind and body’s best interest ? An unrelated thought just came up….. lol I have learned that it is important to be able to provide other’s with a platform with which they are able to give to you. This enables them to be able to give and you to be able to receive. Both benefit from this behavior. I think about giving to other’s, but sometimes need a gentle reminder about providing platform for receiving …… hehehehheehe

Moving forward

Well, I am finally getting some of the pieces of the puzzle to go together. I would get up, go to work, come home; veg a little then crash and do the same thing next day till weekend. Try and cram it all in on the weekend and then go back to same thing all over again next week. My life was based on assumption ; bills being paid by auto pay from money deposited through auto deposit. There was a side of life that I had lost touch with. Was not till all the auto systems ground to a halt and I had to take a look at how to re-adjust the settings on my machine so that it burned new fuel and better utilized it. One thing this has brought me if nothing else, is a strong sense of humility. Emotion where there was previous void; introspective where there was ignorance. I know that all of this is going to fuel my engine to be the best coach that I can be; to guide the light to benefit others.

Evolution and transition

I am now in the beginning stages of evolving my business. I love to help people from the depths of my soul. The deeper their need the more I want to reach out to them and extend a hand. Right now I am in need of helping myself. I have been guilty of that many times. We may go through life doing the same thing day ofter day, then one day the pieces just do not fit the way that they used to. Something has changed and will never be the same. Change is powerful and frequently painful. To leave the old place which has been so familiar. When our comfort zones change in making way for the new movement, we begin to sabotage the way things used to be. Petty situations tend to get blown up larger due to our new discomfort with what once was. Stability suddenly becomes unstable as we move in transition. At this time we have choices. We can fear the change or welcome and adjust accordingly.

Support

Wow, I was talking with a client last night about working in a work place and trying to do their job and not being supported. We may be only getting "one side" of the issue and it is harder to be able to see past our initial perceptions. One thing that I do in these situations, is to say " How would I feel if this were to happen to me?" By using this tool I feel I am able to see more than just the one side I have been presented with. When lightning is present the air is charged and usually there is a smell of ozone along with it. If the energy of lightning could be harnessed would probably be able to run a house for quite awhile. Anger is like lightning in a way. It is a powerful human emotion that left unchecked can be very destructive. However, if it is channeled and re-directed towards action of a positive constructive nature, it can feed the human engine helping motivate us to solve problems, achieve our goals, and remove threats. When I first experience anger, I look at it and say, "OK I have choices here; Is this in my best interest to be in this place ?" Most often this action of question quells the anger so that I can choose how I will redirect it constructively.

Steps

I had a meeting with a client the other day and one thing that came out of it for me was how many irons they had in the fire. For those of you who have kept track, sorry for the absence. I just finished a class on business development this last week and it has dominated my time and thoughts. My primary reason for taking it was to tighten up my bookkeeping system and learn new ways to approach it. As with most classes I have taken, I received several side benefits from completing it. One of the things I learned is another way of rephrasing what I do. I have always helped clients become friends with their computers, but until recently did not realize a major benefit I brought to them. I am a recreation technology generation bridge gapper ( Yeah, I know it is a mouthful .......lol.) I have the ability to bridge communications between generations, from the ages of grandkids through grandparents.

Change

That which you seek to avoid, you will attract. When we fall into doing this, we have just made a choice to do this. The next step that follows is when you again have this happen in front of someone and you say the same thing. You laugh, they laugh and this begets itself. Pretty soon you get known for this behavior. You do have another choice. When you have a problem with something, seek someone who is very good at it and have them give you a protocol to follow of what they do when they do it. By using this process, in short time you will be able to say "Cool, I can do it!"

Filters

Filters are a powerful thing. Part of the reason for this may likely be that you do not have a plan for this day. Yes, I do realize it is a "day off", but it is just as valuable a day in your life as any other. The interesting aspect of this is, at what point do you do this? One key I find helps, is to be aware of your intuition and use it as your guide. The key here is ACTION. Do not wait till frustration becomes the reason for "putting it down." The sooner that you re-assess the situation, the sooner you will find the answer.

Flies and honey

Something to think about. I had a client I did some internet research for. Though they did benefit from the research, they did not ask me directly to do it and therefore did not express gratitude for me taking the time and doing it. I reacted by saying to myself " I will never do that again." I also said to myself " I will not work with them again." As attraction will happen, 2 months later I got another call, asking me to bail them out of another "technological situation." My first thought was "Yeah right ......... lol " , but then the coach side of me kicked in and said "You have an opportunity here for growth." One thing that came up for me this weekend, is the importance of "the past does not equal the future." You may or may not have heard the term, but is is so important to apply this principle in your life.
